The chicken


A couple of weeks ago I made this Chicken Mandy Rice ...I must tell ya, it is the most sought after food in the house. Everyone loves it especially the kids. Adib can have 3 serving sometimes. The recipe was from a blog ..forgot the name, this Malaysian lady was based in Jordan or Egypt, don't know whether she still is. Anyway, u have to blend all the ingredients in making the spices beforehand which is then used to marinate the chicken, It is called Kabsa Spice...then u just marinate the chicken for 1/2 hr before roasting in oven for 1 hr fully wrapped in aluminum foil with slices of lemon n onion rings. After an hr or so uncover the chicken n roast for another 15mins so the skin become dark n charred...walla.....U will get just like the picture above....ops, don't forget to sprinkle salt all over chicken before roasting.


As for the rice ..well its the easiest of all...unlike Briyani...I just used Ghee, onion, ginger n garlic which were sliced thinly n long..fry with star anise, cardamon, cinnamon...as usual, in making Arab rice, we only use Basmathi rice ok....
so easy....for me Mandy Rice is way easier than Chicken Rice...

Driving with almost no-fuel

Last Friday, when I started my car to fetch my daily maid around 1pm , I realized that the screen info about my car fuel showed 50++ KM only....means, I can only drive up to 50km`s far the most ..so, I said to myself, ok, that should be enough for a day or so....so I drove as usual, 1st to fetch the maid, then sent my kids to school, one near my house n another in SJ...suddenly the km reduced down to 30km or something...damn!!! have I drove 20km already? ...from my house to SJ is about 15mins drive...ok....so I drove to the nearest shopping complex, Empire to kill time as my Ustazah was to come around 3.30pm n I still have 1hr n 30 mins or so...

After my shopping is done I drove back home in heavy downpour...driving slowly in the rain and so as to save fuel to last me for the day till I get my hubby`s Shell card..(hehe..kes tumpang sekaki) ..the thing about this car I`m driving, the km will reduce tremendously if I drove really fast...hehe..since I`m a fast driver kan...paham2 jer la..so to cut story short, after ngaji, I went to fetch Izzat from his Toastmasters thingy at school in SJ then went to pick Adib and sent both of them home. Then I waited in the car for Izzat to get ready for his tuition n send my the maid home at one go..after sending both ..around this time my km already showed 8km only. Still ok coz I don`t have any trip to do till my hubby arrived home...sempat la ...

Btw, masa ni dah penat sangat coz satu hari keluar masuk je...then when hubby arrived, told him to fill the tank..alamak his car also tarak fuel la pulak...so he went to fill his coz today he volunteered to send our kids for ice hockey class in SunwayP..yeay!! leh relax sikit...thanks Abah..

So after he left with the kids, I went to fill mine...the moment I started the engine, the km suddenly become 6km, then 4km, 3km...what?? I was still in front of the gate...the it showed ----km.. I kept driving n hoping that I could still reach the station..dah lah jalan tu kena lalu kubur n hari pun sudah malam dan saya ni pulak jenis penakut..hehe..but somehow, I managed to get to the station located about 2km away...phewwww!!! berpeloh sekejap...

So the moral of the story, U can still drive a few km away even if yr screen showed no-fuel ...or other words..tangki sudah kering... ni citer pasal kesibukkan her pasal tangki kosong..wakaka..

OMG....this is the best record I had.... Updating my blog after more than a year....tahniah! tahniah...
Anyway, I dah berazam nak aktif kembali berblogging nih..boleh? Harapannyer biarlah ada entry at least every week if not every alternate day...let see 1st k....now camera pun buat hal camner? Nak kena beli baru dulu baru boleh compose my 1st official entry for year 2011...nanti takder gambar pulak... Tunggu n lihat!!!

I can go crazy with the current arrangement...Abah is currently away on business trip...so part of his duties fall to me..

Yesterday, after sending Sofiah to school in d morning, came back relax a bit then cooked...about 11.40am sent Izzat to his school in SJ...then as usual rushed back to send Adib to school near home around 12.20pm...around 1.20pm went back to school to fetch Sofiah....then my sis called urging me to take my maid to hospital as she couldn't bear the pain on her left thumb anymore (minah ni kes lain...malas nak citer...penat jari ajer)..She was scared to tell me so being a good friend of my mom n sis, she called them...so there came my sis speaking on her behalf....After getting some infos, I decided to bring her to Klang GH...cheaper ....u never know how much private hospital's bill will come to...being an Indonesian ..u guess...so brought her to Klang around 2pm accompanied by Sofiah ( too young to stay home alone..) with a friend ( who is so familar wt govt. hospital) and her 2 young kids...so there went d 'Rombongan Cik Kiah' to hospital...being govt hospital...need I story more? never!!! So everything settled around 5.30pm...rushed back to pick up Adib at 6.20pm...then sent Sofiah her swimming session before heading to SJ to fetch Izzat from school..dropped by Restoran Anggerik in USJ to pack nasi lemak biasa....guess what? nasi lemak biasa cost u RM3 each...damned expensive!! (That's it, my 1st n last....if u go buy the pre-packed nasi lemak...what would it cost? RM1? or mayb RM1.50 the most..whatever...).... sent Izzat straight to the club to join Sofiah...went back home with my head spinning like crazy ...I felt my head was gonna explode anytime...serious!! then just when my body was about to relax a bit, rushed back to club to fetch Izzat n Sofiah....oh God!!! help me!!! Thanked God.. got nasi lemak, so I just left them downstairs with bibik n nasi lemaks....went up took some pills n off to bed...not to sleep k...coz I still hv to monitor my kids' study ...next week all got exams...then hv to wait call from Abah..

Today the same routine minus the hospital n swim...thank God...my hubby just called ...apalagi..almost 10mins mencurahkan perasaan and story him yesterday's details...told him to come back ASAP!! A friend of mine wrote in my FB that I could enjoy since hubby not around....can I enjoy...after reading the above, u know the answer...

My busy life...

This year my younger son Adib started his afternoon session ( the school's firstime) that changed my normal routine into a very kelam kabut one...after many years of having only single session, with the growing populations , the school has no choice but to have it in 2 sessions...

Last year when my eldest Izzat started his afternoon session, it was quite a smooth transition...except a few hinch here n there...while both my younger ones are in morning session.

However, this year with Adib n Izzat both in afternoon leaving Sofiah alone in the morning ...my routines have changed dramatically...now I have to limit myself from attending religous classes that are held at a nearby surau to once a week compared to atleast 2-3 times..reason, I got to make sure that Adib does his homeworks, help him and being there to answer all sort of soalan cepumas from him... then almost every morning, I got to go cycling with him a few rounds in the area...reason being, in the evening, by the time he came back from school, it'll betoo late...he said "I have to exercise...I dun wanna grow fat!" what??? he must be watching The Biggest Losser alot...whatever...

Then by 11.40am the most, I have to start my journey to a nearby town to send Izzat in which ; return journey would normally takes around 30-40mins....yg nih sorang lagi budak bertuah....instead of just entering a secondary school just next door from his old primary, he wanted to study far instead...reason being ..Izzat said "I don't want to have the old friends since I was std 1 to std 6. I wanna have new friends" whatever... And then, I have to rush pulak sending Adib to school as according to him, school asked them to be in the Dewan Terbuka by 12.30am... btw, due to all these too, I can't go to the gym anymore...

Then after sending Adib, I'll have another 1/2 an hour or so before heading back to school to pick Sofiah..or on Wed n Thurs , I'll just wait infront of the school as Sofiah finishes at 12.50pm on those days... as usual, I have to monitor her homeworks at 3pm-5pm everyday before we're off for another few rounds of cycling....( this one I insisted coz firstly, I cannot go to the gym anymore. Secondly, during cycling with Adib ..I don't sweat at all...he cycles so slow ...)

Besides all these, my kids have piano lessons every Wed..Izzat at 10am, Adib 10.30am and Sofiah at 2.30pm....Then Izzat n Sofiah both have swimming every Tues, Fri n Sun 7.30pm to 9pm...and Adib too at 6pm o Sun..

Lucky me coz all my kids don't go tuition except Sofiah for English only on Mon 3.30pm to 5pm... so, when do I get to relax???...at nite time I guess after all of them went to bed...thank God, they normally doze off by 9.30pm the most...and if my eyes permit...I'll watch my fav shows on Astro...channels 701, 702,703,707,711 712 n 733 till I zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

Free meal? I'm on...

Watched Astro 2 nights ago, its channel 703-AFC- Chef Abroad...this time the chef went to Google HQ, forgot where ( in US of course....want exact state...google it). Guess what, Google actually provides free meal to all it staffs...can't u believe it? The foods of choice are so extensive that its look like hotel buffet spread....lucky them...everyday the menu will be different...and the staffs will be informed beforehand on what they can expect during breakfast or lunch...with foods that cater for all type of diets..If u have watched that show, u can see the type of foods that they have...steak, poultry, fish, pasta, dessert ( pie, cake ,pastries..) and an extensive range of salads...u name it!

I imagine myself goin to office ( konon staff Google) and wondering what to eat today??? Instead of pulling my head on which stall or restaurant ( erm...restaurant would be around month end or early of the month when my pockets are still heavy or else stall aje k...).to go....i'll just go thru' my lappie and scroll over for today's menu....isn't that fantastic?!! Its just like goin thru a menu in a FANCY restaurant ...but the only different is ...u don't have to pay for it!!!....how awesome is that!!...If only the company that i worked before as generous as Google.... i or anyone else for that matter, would have been thinking a million time over whether or not to resign... well..its too late already by now....anyway, do we have company like Google here?...umph...i wonder...

Happy New Year!!

Hey, i'm blogging again...after my old blog got stucked (unable to gain access) sometime in 2007...ok, no secret....i'm getting 40 this year, so what a better year to start with a new blog rite???

I hope its not too late to wish all bloggers who will stumble upon my writing a Happy New Year...well I didn't really expect people to read my blog as I am not a good writer...Its just that...my hand is too itchy to write...just about anything....

I feel good when I write....serious.. sometime, u just feel like u have a lot to talk about but there's nobody to talk to...well, i'm a homemaker with 3 growing kids...This year my eldest son Izzat is in Form 2, my only girl Sofiah in Thn 5 and my youngest son, Adib is in Thn 2.....my daily routine is typical of other homemakers...nothing to shout about...( I hv done this intro in my earlier blog...)

Anyway, this will be the place where i can talk about anything ....anything that comes to my mind...well...from the mind of a person who's getting 40 this year....
